Conversing with God

Mind you, He will still speak with you, but if your cares of this world are greater than your care of your soul and spirit, then His voice becomes more of a muffle, like when you hear people’s voices while under water.

In my personal experience, I don’t save my conversations with Him for prayer time, or when I need Him. I speak to Him all day long. Thanking Him for the little things that would normally go unnoticed.

I speak with Him when I am ironing, when I am watching a movie, while I walk, and however trivial it may sound, if I can’t find things for example, I ask Him to lead me to where they are, and He is faithful. Why stress, when you can just ask?

By keeping Him near and waiting on Him, He will lead you in ways that will surprise you. I cannot tell you how many times He has warned me of coming dangers. And the key is to be obedient. I have not always been obedient. But when I have submitted to Him fully, life becomes so much easier and clearer and safer.

I find that my walk with Him, when I am walking with Him, eases my mind from worry and fear. I realize He is in complete control, and by worrying, I am saying that I don’t trust Him. I have been there…too many times. Trying to control things myself and making a hot mess out of things and making matters worse than if I just let go and let God, as they say.

I have also found that the more you pay attention, the easier it beomes to hear His “still small voice.” And the easier it becomes to recognize His voice..

some think that He only spoke to folk in the old days…. No… He is still speaking to His people, the question is, are you listening?
