King David had to wait too.

So as I sat here conversing with God at 5:30 in the morning about the good things that King David had.

King David had Wisdom, Power, Wealth, The world at his fingertips. Yet when God asked me… “What do you believe was David’s greatest gift or possession? …”

I thought about it for a while, and I answered…

The greatest gift that King David possessed was none of these. The greatest gift he did have though was the favor of God.

Then I smiled, because I knew that I gave the correct answer, because He then replied…

“Write”

I had waited so long for the priviledge to hear that word.

But the key is that…

…I waited.

even though I had many stories to tell, I was told to wait; and so I was obedient.

Sometimes we want what we want, when we want it. But with God and what He wants of you? Well, it is better to wait on Him.

He will show you. Much better than thinking you know, and going forward without His blessing and then wondering why we failed. That is something we are all guilty of.

So my advice would be that, during those times when you most feel the need to rush, stop and wait. It may just be the devil trying to distract you from what God is trying to show you or say.

Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the LORD” KJV

One response to “King David had to wait too.”

  1. On the topic of patience, I highly recommend the novel ‘Follow your Heart’ by Susanna Tamar!
